VMISD COVID-19 Information
District Message from Superintendent Mike Kelly:
"We would like to inform the families of VMISD that our district closure will continue until at least May 4 as ordered by Governor Abbott. Food services will remain available throughout the closure. Please continue to pick meals up for your children! When we distributed instructional packets the first time, our elementary campus provided material to last through April 10, while the JH/HS provided material to last through April 3. We are working with teachers to formulate a plan to provide instructional materials through the end of April. On the next instructional packet pickup date at each campus, your student will receive work that will last throughout the month of April. We will keep you updated as we develop our distribution process so be on the lookout for more information from your child's principal. Remember, these materials are there to support your child's educational growth while they are away from campus. If you are struggling with the material or have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your students' teachers or administrators. We are here to HELP!
We encourage you all to practice social-distancing and continue to find small things to enjoy while you are at home. Get outside, read a good book, play board games, and spend time with your family. While we miss you all so much, we know this is what is best for our future. Please know that we take our students' emotional well being very seriously and we are here to support our families during this difficult time. If we can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to ask. We will get through this together. "
